The short version
- We never sell your data and never use it for advertising. There is no advertising SDK and no tracking across other apps.
- Your notes, journal and chats with Calmy are encrypted in our database, in the EU.
- Calmy (our AI friend), its memory, and health data each need your own yes. The rest of the app works without them.
- You can delete your account and all your data at any time, in the app or at calmdepth.com/delete.
What we collect and why
- Email address: to create your account and sign you in with a code, Apple or Google.
- Nickname, language, timezone, country, age band, bedtime and wake time: to personalise the app, set reminders and protect younger users.
- Listening history, favourites and progress: to build your Today path and resume sessions.
- Mood check ins, private notes and journal entries, only if you write them: to show them back to you and, if you allow it, give Calmy context.
- Messages with Calmy, only after you agree: to hold the conversation and check safety. Message text is processed by an AI service to write replies and is never used to train models.
- Calmy memory, only if you agree: what you ask Calmy to remember. Each item can be viewed and deleted.
- Sleep data from Apple Health or Health Connect, only if you agree: summarised on your phone first, and only the nightly summary is synced.
- Purchases and subscription status: through the App Store, Google Play and RevenueCat.
- Product usage events: through PostHog in the EU, to improve the product. You can switch this off in Settings.
We do not collect your contacts, photos, precise location, advertising identifier or payment card details. Voice input is converted to text on your phone and no audio leaves it.
Who processes data for us
- Cloudflare (hosting, database in the EU, email sending, embeddings)
- An AI service that writes Calmy's replies, only after your consent
- PostHog (product usage, EU cloud)
- RevenueCat, Apple and Google (purchases)
How long we keep it
Until you delete your account. Calmy conversation logs are removed automatically after at most twelve months.
Your rights
You can see, export and delete your data in the app, and delete your account in Settings. You can also write to hello@calmdepth.com. If you live in the EU you can complain to your data protection authority.
